BidTroller/Troubleshooting

Can’t find a job

You know about a bid, but you can’t find it on the dashboard. Most of the time it is there, just hidden by a filter. Check these in order.

2. Look past the default view

The dashboard starts with active jobs whose bids are still open. A job is hidden by default when:

  • Its status is Submitted or No bid. Tick All, incl. submitted and no-bid under Status.
  • Its bid date has passed. Set Bids due to Already closed or Any date.
  • Within miles is set and the listing gives no location. Clear that box.

Jobs marked Unlikely under Fence fit are never hidden. They sort with the rest.

3. It may be merged

When the same project is listed on several sites or emails, BidTroller merges them into one job. Look for the project under a slightly different name, and check Found on on the job page for every place it was seen. An old link to a merged job takes you to the combined one.

4. It may come from a place we can’t read

  • A paid bid service (ConstructConnect, Dodge, BuildingConnected, PlanHub, SmartBid): those jobs only come in through the emails you forward. Check the Setup page. See Forwarded email isn’t showing up.
  • A site that needs a supplier login, like DemandStar or BidNet Direct member pages, or a site that asks bots not to visit: we don’t read those pages. Register for the site’s free alert emails and forward them. See Questions and answers.
  • A site nobody has added yet: an owner or admin can add it under Admin, Sources. See Admin.

5. Tell us about it

Still not there? It’s a missed bid, and that is the most useful thing you can send us. On the Feedback page, pick A bid BidTroller missed and give the project name, where you saw it, the bid date, and the link if you have it. See Feedback and sign-offs.
